LAYLL

  • The Los Angeles Youth Lacrosse League (LAYLL) is a community‑driven league dedicated to growing the game of lacrosse across Los Angeles in a way that is inclusive, collaborative, and development‑focused.

LAYLL exists to support local youth lacrosse programs by providing a structured league environment that prioritizes player development, sportsmanship, safety, and access. We believe lacrosse is more than a sport. It is a vehicle for building confidence, teamwork, leadership, and lifelong community.

  • LAYLL was created to bring together independent recreation and community‑based lacrosse programs under a shared league framework. Our goal is to strengthen each program while creating consistent, high‑quality playing opportunities for athletes across neighborhoods, cities, and backgrounds.

    We focus on:

    • Development over results, especially at younger age levels

    • Fair and balanced competition

    • Clear communication and collaboration between programs

    • Reducing barriers to entry so more kids can play

  • LAYLL is led by program directors, coaches, and volunteers who are actively involved in youth lacrosse across Los Angeles. Each member program maintains its own identity while working together to ensure league decisions reflect the best interests of players, families, and the broader lacrosse community.

Our league values transparency, shared responsibility, and collective problem‑solving. We are strongest when we work together.

  • LAYLL serves boys and girls from early elementary through middle school. Many of our athletes are first‑time players, while others are continuing their lacrosse journey through recreational play. Our league structure is designed to meet players where they are and help them grow.

We welcome multi‑sport athletes and support families balancing school, club, and other activities.

  • LAYLL is committed to:

    • Safe and positive playing environments

    • Respect for officials, coaches, players, and families

    • Player‑centered scheduling and age‑appropriate rules

    • Supporting programs that serve diverse and underserved communities

We believe that when communities rally around youth sports, everyone benefits.

  • As lacrosse continues to grow in Los Angeles and with the sport returning to the Olympic stage in 2028, LAYLL is focused on building a strong, sustainable foundation for the next generation of players.

Our mission is simple: grow the game the right way, together.
